Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).

Open Posts
Click the "Posts" tab.

Add new post
Click the "Add New" sub-tab.

Categories, tags, and meta
As needed, select a category, add tags, and fill in the meta settings below the editor.

Featured image
Upload a featured image for your post.

Post format
Select Post Format. You can create a blog post with a variety of formats (link, gallery, image, etc.). Select the desired format in the Format box in the right sidebar.
